Mark Schultz

Mark leads an ongoing meditation and awareness practice each Sunday morning, and developed an in-depth study of health and spiritual practices called the Moving into Balance series with Center Director Manny Muros. He offers this series in Boston and Cambridge. Regionally, Mark leads community events that draw together many elements of a spiritual and spirited life: White Mountain writing and meditation retreats featuring vegetarian cooking, wilderness travel, movement and music and good company; as well as sponsoring Authentic Movement dance events in our area.

A poet, musician and vegetarian chef, Mark has studied the intuitive arts of Buddhist Meditation, Yang and Chen style T'ai Chi, a variety of self-defense forms, and Anusara and Kripalu Yoga. He trained in High Energy Physics and Applied Mathematics at Northwestern University's Integrated Sciences Program, and Psychology, Forestry and Composition at the University of Minnesota. Through the years he has co-owned a community supported organic farm, worked in small-press publishing, managed a cooperative restaurant, and been involved in a number of human development programs. Mark is a core member of the Odonata Ecovillage, residential community dedicated to sustainability and spirit. Visit him at his web journal A Well-Lit Path, or on his website, at TheWayWest.com.
