About Us

The Yoga Center of Newburyport is a sanctuary for people at all stages in their lives. We are a community of people seeking truth, balance, and inner peace. We come together to explore the transformative and healing powers of yoga, movement, meditation and music - striving to discover our true selves and touch base with our own center.

Newly transformed this December/January, the Yoga Center of Newburyport, LLC is the next incarnation of Newburyport Center for Yoga and Health. Founded in 1992 by Cate Wolff Cameron, NCYH was the first center for yoga and mindfulness in the greater Newburyport region. Throughout thirteen years of serving this community, thousands of students have benefited from Cate's vision, dedication and gifted teaching; many lives were enriched, souls touched and bodies made more whole. Our whole community is grateful to her for her work.

Manny Muros and Leigh Snow, new directors of the center, began their study of yoga at NCYH six and five years ago, and began teaching there in 2001 and 2003 respectively. Manny holds an MBA and is trained as a pharmacist. He spent many years starting and running small businesses, but has been on sabbatical raising his three boys and writing. He began his meditation and spiritual practices eight years ago as a way to balance his life, after burning out on the business world. Leigh, a practicing architect and full time mother, turned to yoga and holistic practices as a way to manage chronic health issues. She completed an extensive teacher training program in Anusara Yoga last year. They have both felt their bodies and lives transformed by their practices and enjoy sharing this journey with others.

"We are humbled and honored to be entrusted with guiding this special center into a new stage in its life. We plan to maintain and expand the nurturing environment that is the heart of our center, as we look to bring in new energy and opportunities for growth of our community. We strive to keep the best of what we have to offer and to build upon it. Look for more classes, speakers, events and workshops that will help you develop and deepen your practice."
