After 27 Years The Yoga Center Is Moving

Dear Friends,

The only constant in life is change, and as yogis we look to move with ease and grace through all that life brings to us.

It is with mixed emotions that I am sharing with you that The Yoga Center will be moving from 12 Maple Street. We will be joining the Roots to Wings community starting on September 1st, 2019. For over 27 years we have been a tenant at will and we have now been pressured into making the decision to vacate Maple Street.

What appeared to be an unfair and challenging situation is turning out to be a blessing in disguise as the union with Roots to Wings is full of wonderful potential for us all. There will be over 40 classes per week to choose from and over 20 new teachers to experience. We will be part of a thriving spiritual community of like-minded healers, teachers, and students.

I have been working with Mike and Beth to make our transition as seamless as possible. Memberships and class cards will be fully honored. In a spirit of generosity and honoring our long history, we are converting all class cards into unlimited membership at The Yoga Center for the month of August and at Roots to Wings for the month of September (includes unlimited classes, does not include class series/workshops). This will be a great time to rekindle your practice, giving a sweet good bye to Maple Street and a warm hello to Roots to Wings.

The plan is for Rose Russo, Jennifer Freeman and myself to continue teaching at Roots to Wings. Discussions are underway with additional teachers who have expressed an interest in teaching at Roots to Wings. The official Fall Class Schedule will be released mid-August and will be shared with you at that time.

Roots to Wings has deep spiritual roots within the Kripalu lineage and they have built out a beautiful sanctuary space with plenty of convenient parking. We will no longer have to deal with the icy alley and having to cancel classes due to street parking bans!

Our facility at 12 Maple Street will close on August 29th, 2019 and will re-open at Roots to Wings, 76 Newburyport Turnpike, Newbury, on September 1st, 2019.

Please join us on Thursday August 29th 6:00-8:30pm for a soulful pot luck gathering, sharing, and closing celebration for this chapter in ours and the Yoga Center's life. Alise and Mariella will share their musical talents with us all.

I personally, have been at the Yoga Center for over 20 years. I started as a student, then became a teacher and have been the owner for the last 17 years. There are so many wonderful memories and incredible friendships that I cherish and such a beautiful group of authentic souls working to become better versions of ourselves.

In addition, I will be focusing on the development of the Alnoba Peace Foundation in Kensington, NH and sharing the teachings from my book beyond the Newburyport community.

With love, light & gratitude,

P.S. Please note our community of orphan mats is always expanding, so please pick up your mat or they will be donated.
